They’ve offered every address affected by the evacuation £50. This is compensation for the disruption purely on Saturday night. How about the constant disruption for endless months. It’s been miserable living in Queen Adelaide recently.

    • This is not a LBB compensation offer but from SGN the gas contractors who are at fault.
London Borough of Bromley are not liable for the disruption.
You should complete the procedure with them and make a request for further compensation. We can support you but can’t make the applications for residents.

lbb should have been policing this as part of their official job description remit, by not enforcing stricter enforcement on works that were considerably beyond its original time schedule! what penalties have bromley imposed for the overrunning?i work with camden and westminster and neither would allow such breaches so why should bromley be any different?

    • We do understand your and all local residents’ frustration and anger but we have to admit that LBB have been actively on site and meeting regularly with SGN.
A second far more serious gas leak occurred earlier into this repair in another part of the ward which caused the initial delay to our works.

The fact that this repair work then turned into a major leak is not under LBB control.
We have to be reasonable here and await the outcome of the debrief.
This is not about blame but everyone working to ensure the safety of our residents and that gas main.
SGN and LBB are meeting this week and we will be in attendance. The agenda will cover all the aspects of this ongoing ad overdue repair works, including compensation.
I can assure you LBB will be pressing for all related costs to them. We will be pressing for a speedy conclusion to this works and fair compensation for our residents.
