New public park and tennis courts for Penge & Cator

The Sports Ground in Kings Hall Road

We have been working hard with residents living around Kings Hall Road to find a solution to the dilapidated state of the Kings Hall Sports Ground. The old Cyphers sports ground stopped being used for sport many ears ago and the previous owner sold it to an investment company. It has since been unused and last year it was invaded by travellers for several weeks. No viable proposal for retuning it to a sports ground could be found and so local councillors worked with the local community to find a solution they could accept.   After many months of negotiation, a scheme which includes nine houses built on the site of the old pavilion has been agreed. The rest of land is being given to Bromley Council as a public park and the old tennis courts are being refurbished to provide four new tennis courts for public use. This seems a good result in all the circumstances.
