Green Lane Gym turned down

Outcome from Planning meeting, Thursday 27th October.

An application for a gym on the site of the old Edginton’s store in Green Lane was refused. The issue was the pressure on parking in nearby roads. The applicants said they would direct users to the Blenheim Centre Car Park but there was some concern as this closes at 7pm.

The plumbing supply shop on the corner of Green Lane and Torr Road was given permission to change to housing. Planning guidelines usually say that a shop has to be on the market for 18 months before changing to residential use. In this case though, the committee decided that the location was appropriate for housing. The plans include an off street parking space.

Malcolm School was given permission to erect a canopy in their grounds. This would have no effect on neighbours.
