Air Quality in Penge

A number of residents have asked us recently about air quality in our area.   At the last Council meeting we asked the Environment Portfolio Holder how roadside air quality is measured in Bromley and what results have been recorded over the last 12 months?

We were told that roadside air quality is measured by a continuous roadside air quality monitoring station at Harwood Avenue and by ten other diffusion tube sites spread across the Borough.  The data has yet to be analysed, but he did offer to share the raw data available with any Member who wishes to see it.

Harwood Avenueis on the edge ofBromleyTownso perhaps not very relevant to Penge.   Kathy Bance sits on the Environment Committee and will be pursuing the Portfolio Holder to find whether any measurement is carried out in Penge (Penge crossroads is one of the most congested junctions in the borough) and what the results are.
