Bromley Council Tax consultation meeting

The next, and final, meeting in the “Tough Choices” series will be the one for this end of the borough.  It’s at Citygate Church in Rectory Road, Beckenham, on Monday 28 November from 7.30 – 9.00 pm.

Thanks to government policy, the council has to find around £30mn of further cuts.   And there is not much left to cut.   The most recent meeting was at the Civic Centre in Bromley where around 90 people turned up.  Amongst the questions put to the leaders of the council were:

Sharing services with other boroughs, Redevelopment of the Town Centre, cuts ti Sure Start/Children’s Centres, scope for more efficiency savings, effect of Academies on education in Bromley, keeping Bromley as a good place to live.

Attending the meetings is a good way of getting a greater understanding of the financial pressures on the council.  It would also be good to have a few people there speaking up for Penge.   We hope to see some of you there.
