Tram Link Extension update

Crystal Palace Tram Link extension.

Transport forLondon gave Bromley councillors an informal presentation on the strategic options for tram links and rail links into Bromley.  This was focussed mainly on Bromley Town Centre and did not deal with existing rail services.

Several options were presented including a Tramlink extension to Bromley town centre with trams running throughAlbermarle Road and a DLR or Transit extension to Bromley North.   Another option was extending the overground from New Cross to Lewisham and/or an Extension of the Bakerloo line to Sutton.

The majority of Bromley Councillors clearly want a connection fromCanaryWharf(London) to Bromley North which would help regenerate Bromley Town Centre.   Your local councillors will continue to support the TfL preferred option of an extension to the Croydon tram link to CrystalPalace.   TfL consider this to be the least expensive and more easily engineered option.
