A Brighter future for Penge Rec

We have reached agreement with Bromley Council to improve and increase the lighting in our town park, making it brighter and so safer to use.  Lamps are being installed down the footpath furthest from St John’s school.

We have also asked the council to provide a sandpit again this year, during the school holidays, and this will be four times larger than the one supplied last year.  The Friends of the Parks are organising deck chairs and events to take place in the park.   We are keen to see our local parks become the gems of the town that they once were.  If anyone would like to join as a “Friend of Penge Rec”, do please contact us.

Meanwhile,Winsford Gardens, off Croydon Road, has been piloting a Green Gym which has been extremely successful.  Work continues to improve the facilities and get residents to take part in keep fit activities.   The green gym sessions are run by the BTCV charity.  It amazing what has already been achieved.
