Planning Consent refused for former Snooker Hall Site

A planning application to convert the old snooker hall to 6 2-bedroom flats was turned down following intervention by Peter Fookes.   The flats would have fronted on to 2 _ 4 Raleigh Road.   The concern was that there was insufficient parking attached ot the flats and so this development would have intensified parking in surrounding streets.    Previously at planning  committee, the application had been deferred to allow the developer to reduce the number of units to four but he refused to.  It remains to be seen whether the developer will take this to appeal to the Planning Inspectorate.
