New Aldi Store Granted Licence

The new Aldi store on the site of the former Robin Hood Pub (pictured right) and garage at the corner of Elmers End Rd and Croydon Rd was granted an alcohol licence yesterday.  The hours will be from 8-00 am until 11-00pm seven days a week although Aldi told the Bromley Council Licensing hearing that the store would probably only open until 9-00pm.  At a previous planning application meeting, they had said 8-00pm.  Objections to the application came from residents in Sherborne Court opposite the site and the police.  Police concerns were withdrawn after Aldi agreed to install CCTV and take other security measures on site.  The store is due to open in July.
