Bromley’s new Mayor visits Labour Party stall at Penge Fete

The Mayor and Mayoress at the Labour Party stall

One of Cllr Michael Turner’s first duties on being elected Mayor of Bromley was to visit the Penge Festival Fete on Saturday 19th May.  He spent a lot of time visiting the stalls of the various charities and organisations.  He visited the Labour Party stall and the Conservative party stall.   The Lib Dems did not show up for the Fete.  (See page on “Political Stuff” for possible reasons.)

The fete had a good range of stalls and activities, including an exhibition of some of the equipment that may go into a new open air gym in Betts Park.  There was also a wide variety of arena events including the Beckenham Concert Band, a gospel choir and the Malcolm School Choir.   The Fete is the culmination of 3 weeks of activities in the town which also raise a lot of money for charity.  We’ll post the final figures when they are available but congratulations to Wendie Roche and her colleagues for all their hard work leading to this success.
