New Phone shop for Penge High Street?

A planning application has been submitted for a new shop front for the two units of  Fashion House furthest away from Empire Square.   The signage in the application indicates that “Phones 4u” want to take the units.

We have known for some time that Fashion House were wanting to downsize their premises.  We have also had many pleas from shoppers and traders for a proper phone shop in Penge.   If all goes well, it looks as if that might be happening.   A further sign of a brighter future for Penge High Street.

  1. Mobile phone companies refuse to co-operate with police against vice (hence ‘tart cards’ with mobile phone numbers) and some biological research indicates mobile phone technology as being behind the catastrophic global decline in bees. Just what Penge needs?

I know I’ve commented already, and I don’t know if anybody reads this stuff(?), but I think this is really important. The cellphone industry is the ‘new kid on the block,’ it’s even more under-regulated than banks, and some people are reporting really poor, scammy services from their cellphone providers. I don’t have to ask very far, for example, to find another cellphone customer getting nuisance calls, apparently from an office somewhere, where the caller says little or nothing and then hangs up, at some cost to the recipient. The company, when complained to, is very vague about whether it can or will do anything about tracing the caller, raising suspicions that it’s a provider scam.
