Results from under age test purchases for alcohol, fireworks and knives in the Penge area

On Tuesday the 30th October 2012, Bromley Trading Standards Department conducted an operation in Penge. 

A total of 15 shops were targeted with 2 volunteer boys aged 16

  • 11 of these shops were visited and test purchased for alcohol.   This resulted in 3 sales.
  • 8 of the shops were visited and test purchased for fireworks.  There were no sales
  • 2 of the shops were visited and test purchased for knives (as part of the Penge Police operations) resulting in 1 sale.

Further visits are planned for the Penge area following complaints received this week.  Trading Standards will endeavour to visit all firework sellers and test purchase for fireworks on Saturday and Monday next week.
