What proposals for London’s police might mean for Bromley and Penge. Details of public meeting

As you may have heard, Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, has produced his Police and Crime Plan, which sets out his strategy for London for the next four years.

The plan is now available on line.  It gives a borough-by-borough breakdown of the proposals and the opportunity to have your say on the proposals by completing an on-line questionnaire.

These can be accessed via the following link: http://www.london.gov.uk/priorities/policing-and-crime/community-engagement

For Bromley, the plan shows an increase in police numbers from 428 in October 2011 to 482 by 2015.   However, the 2010 figure was 518.    In Penge, we are pleased to see that the counter service at Copperfield House in Maple Road is down to continue.   As far as we can learn, the plan to have a police base in the Blenheim Centre is also still going ahead.

Consultation events on the plan are being held across London.   The Bromley borough event is being held on 28 January 2013 at 8pm at the Great Hall, Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, Kent BR1 3UH.
