CAB Motion Lost at Full Council Meeting

Our motion to save the Citizen’s Advice Bureau in Snowdown Close was voted down by the Conservative group at the Full Council Meeting on Monday night. The Lib Dems abstained on the matter.  The saving proposed amounts to £41,000 in 2013/14 but we believed that it was a price worth paying.   Over 100 volunteers provide the service across the borough.  We have no objection to the outreach service being provided as well but these volunteers need a base to operate from.  We also proposed that a possible new library or the Kentwood Adult Education Centre should be considered as well.
