2 to 4 Raleigh Rd – New Application rejected

In a scheme which is linked to the former Penge Police Station site, a proposal for 8 two bedroom flats at this former snooker hall site was rejected at the same Plans sub committee.  Officers were concerned about the proposed mansard roof and the lack of amenity space.  In what is becoming a complex history of this site, we were very concerned to hear that a previous scheme for six flats and four parking spaces was allowed by the Planning Inspector after being taken to appeal.  Bromley Council had previously rejected the scheme.  The Inspector also awarded costs to the applicant.  Again, we were concerned about parking issues and the fact that the number of flats should not exceed the parking spaces available.  We are not against development but do not want to see this congested area of Penge become worse. The existing ground floor use by an electical goods wholesaler will remain.
