Update on situation at Kent House Tavern

We have been given an update on the position at the Kent House Tavern.

The premises have remained closed since the 14th January 2013 following the review of the Premises Licence.

At the review hearing, the Licence Holder (Brakespears) said they would remove the Designated Premises Supervisor (Mr Peter Bates) and that the premises would be closed until the 28th January 2013. It appears that Mr Bates has been squatting at the premises since the review hearing.

The owners of the business have been to court and obtained a warrant which will be executed by Bailiff’s in the near future.   Until this has been resolved the premises will remain closed.

It is possible that damage has been caused to the premises internally, so it may take time to bring it up to standard once repossessed.   But that is still the objective.
