Agreement reached on new Library building for Penge

AGREEMENT REACHED ON NEW LIBRARY BUILDING FOR PENGE

We have just heard that agreement has been reached with Edginton’s for the building in Green lane to be taken over by Bromley to become the new Penge Library. That is fantastic news for Penge residents. Now the fight begins to save the vital service at Anerley Town Hall

This seems in accord with the original plan, but seems to contradict an intermediate blogpost. Bromley certainly seems to need to sort itself out communication-wise – it had us all worried, and it keeps getting us worried, long-term, about the loss of vital local libraries, but it all seems so unnecessary, at the end of the day, because we all know that a Council too afraid of the unions to allow volunteers in libraries would never dare close Anerley Library, and the current Maple Road effort is so tiny that no-one would notice if it were accidentally left open, or at least to continue as a children’s loud singing resource…

When is the new Penge library due to open, I believe it was supposed to be December originally?
