Fix My Street – make greater impact when reporting problems in Bromley’s streets or parks

We receive regular complaints about the quality of street cleaning in our part of Bromley.   We also receive reports of dumped household rubbish and black bags and even mattresses.

We act on all complaints, reporting them to Street Services for investigation.   Like you, we believe our streets should be cleaned to the high level that is expected across the borough. We don’t believe that our street cleaning is always good enough and some of our residents are not taking responsibility for disposing of their rubbish properly.

All incidents are dealt with but Bromley Council do not consider we have a real problem in Penge and Cator.  This is because  the number of incidents reported on the council’s official reporting web site, Fix My Street, is low.  We need to challenge this view.

The best and most public way of getting street cleaning problems identified is on the Fix MyStreet website page.  We need to get every incident reported.  This would then impact on the overall statistics and help us get some action to improve our street cleaning and hopefully also change the culture of leaving black bags on our High Streets and Parades.

But we, the councillors, cannot do all this ourselves.  We need you, our residents, to also play their part,

You can still let us know about the problems by email but adding the complaint to the FixMyStreet page will improve the longer term care for our streets.   Please, continue to let us know about the problems but primarily, please, report those issues here:
