Penge Police Station Planning Appeal Lost

The recent planning appeal to the Inspectorate over the former Penge Police Station site in the High Street has been lost and costs awarded against the council. We think that this is very unfair as we felt that the number of parking spaces at this location should be the same as the number of flats being proposed. This area is already one of the most congested in Penge and we do not want to see increased parking problems, particularly with other new developments in the locality. There will now be 5 one bedroom and 2 two bedroom flats with 5 car parking spaces. The hearing was held in October with Peter Fookes arguing our case.

  1. PM says:

Keep fighting. We’re expecting the Kent House to be turned into flats too and Somerville Road is constantly being used as a car park now; it’ll get worse with flats there.
