Kingsway International Christian Centre in Church Rd, Crystal Palace

in a busy evening at a meeting of Plans 1, Councillor Peter Fookes supported the call for enforcement action over the KICC over an alleged material change of use of the premises in breach of planning control.  The site is not allowed to be used for D1 use (Non residential institutions including places of worship).  Over 70 complaints were received about a Watchnight service on New Years Eve.  Bromley officers are concerned that the evidence against KICC is not sufficient so they are going to be given a month to submit a planning application for a change of use.  This decision could end up costing Bromley taxpayers a lot of money and was only narrowly voted through by 5 votes to 3.
