Former Councillor John Getgood made an Honorary Alderman

The Council AGM last week saw former Penge and Cator Councillor John Getgood made an Honorary Alderman of the London Borough of Bromley.  The honour is bestowed on former councillors who have served the borough for twelve years or more and have contributed much to their local community.  John was amongst six recipients of the award on the night.  Although he recently retired at the local elections after twelve years service to the area as a councillor, he will continue to play his part in community life as the Chair of the governing body of Alexandra Junior School in Cator Rd.  John served as the Leader of Bromley Labour Group from 2006 until 2013.
