Bromley Fail to Charge Empty Homes Premium

Bromley are one of seven, mainly Conservative controlled authorities in London that fail to use the Empty Homes Premium to charge home owners 50% extra council tax if they leave properties empty for two or more years. This could result in an extra £90,000 being available to the borough which is food for thought when Bromley Tories do not keep the streets clean in our neck of the woods and social services and other council services are under so much pressure. It is also doing nothing for the housing crisis in this borough. There are currently 80,000 empty homes in the capital.

  1. Thanks for that. So often we have been given the impression that there is no new money, and nowhere for it to possibly come from.

  2. [citation needed] – can you give us the source for that information so that it can be passed on?
