Green Lane Church refused permission to extend hours

Another victory for the local community. Following representations from local councillors, the Planning Inspectorate has upheld Bromley Planning’s decision to refuse extended hours for use of the church premises above the Library. Currently the church is allowed to operate between 1230 and 1600 on Sundays, and 1800 to 2100 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The Church wanted to extend its hours to include two Fridays each month between the hours of 0000 and 0400.
Fortunately, the Inspector recognised the level of disturbance this would cause to people in Cottingham Road in particular and refused the Appeal.
It is now important for nearby residents to continue to log the hours that the church is used and to log and report disturbances. This is the only way the council can gather sufficient evidence to tackle continued reports of disturbance from the church.

1 Response to Green Lane Church refused permission to extend hours

  1. Linda Hibbett says:

I have only just seen this and what a relief. The noise and disruption caused by this awful church of the cherubim to the residents of Cottingham Road in particular is immense. This road is bursting at the seams with cars belonging to people who live nowhere near us. Not to mention the noise and aggravation caused by the people who use this dreadful place. Love They Neighbour is something they definitely do not do. Thank goodness there is still some sanity left in this world and their application to open between 0000-0400 was rejected. What on earth would they be doing at that time of night? The mind boggles.
