Temporary Road Safety Posters in Ash Grove

Residents have asked Bromley Council to erect a few 20mph posters in Ash Grove.

Objections have to be in by 8 December 2014 so please let us know if you have any comments.

We will get feedback on this new initiative and hopefully make more use of them if they are successful.

I Live in Ash Grove and have actually complained to Bromley Council regarding these “signs”. As you enter Ash Grove from the Elmers End Road, there are two 20mph signs on posts there is a 20mph painted on the road, and now we have two extra signs put up on lampposts, this means there are FIVE in the space of 20 houses, this is too much, the new signs look unsightly and litter the road, nobody takes any notice of them anyway.. Bromley council have made this road a rat run, all the other roads ie Ravenscroft, Birkbeck and Mackenzie are all one way, but then they would be as they come under Beckenham, we don’t we come under SE20 and it doesn’t matter. Many times the front of my car has been nearly taken off as I drive up to the corner to turn left into Elmers End Road and cars trying to jump the traffic queues leading up to the top of the hill cut the corner. This crossroads is the problem, this is where the majority of the accidents happen. Ash grove needs to be changed but not with silly road signs,

    • Thank you for your comment and of course we respect your view. Other residents wanted some immediate action to the speeding cars. These signs are only temporary and we did blog asking for views before giving LBB officers approval to install them.

We will monitor reaction from residents and ensure they do not become a permanent feature. 20mph limits is another issue residents have differing opinions on this. If you want to contact any of us cllrs to discuss further by email please do so and we will respond directly.
