Proposal to Cease the Provision of Adult Education in Penge

Bromley Council’s PDS Committee meet tomorrow to discuss cost saving options for Adult Education but both options would see the end of Adult Education in Penge.

Your local councillors will oppose the wholesale cutting of AE provision. However we realise savings have to be made and alternate provisions must be properly explored.

The closure of Kentwood Adult Education will seriously disadvantage our residents and the selling off of another of our community buildings will be opposed.

  1. What about us? I.e., no mention of the Beckenham part of the ward, or are we tacitly included in ‘Penge’ these days? Don’t forget the historical role of the old Studio building, a purpose-built(?) adult education centre.
