Thank You For Voting Labour

Thank you to all those residents across the borough who came out to vote for the Labour candidates on Thursday. As expected, no seats changed hands in Bromley despite the unexpected narrow Conservative victory nationally. Jim Dowd held Lewisham West and Penge taking 24,347 votes to 11,633 for Russell Jackson for the Tories. A 6% swing to Labour. Congratulations to Marina Ahmad and John Courtneidge in Beckenham and Bromley and Chislehurst respectively who both came second with over 9000 votes as the Lib Dem vote collapsed across the borough. Nigel De Gruchy did well to increase the Labour figure in Orpington by over 3,000 votes to finish third. Full results are available on the Bromley website – http://www.bromley.gov.uk
