Snowdown Close lost as a community space

The Planning appeal 41/04144 for 20 Snowdon Close, SE20 has been allowed.  The former citizen’s advice bureau, more recently used by Christ Central Church, for their excellent work with our local youths will be demolished to make way for flats.

Not defeated by the money orientated LBB and their sell all attitude their youth work will continue and we will continue to support them.

Glenn Patten writes:

Hi Snowdon close supporters,
I completely agree with the above sentiments on Snowdown Close being given over to developers. Very disappointing that Penge will be losing a great community asset all for the ground total of 6 apartments.

Thank you to all of you for your great support, encouragement and tenacious commitment to the community of Penge.
Christ Central will continue to serve the 60 or more local kids who gather for the Kick academy each Saturday in the park, and we will of course do all we can to work with the community leaders in Penge to ‘build a better Penge’.
I am so grateful for the time, advice and encouragement that we have received from you and many other local residents.

With much appreciation,

Glenn
