Thanks to our local heroes

We record our thanks to our local heroes who so quickly and efficiently assisted our residents during the evacuation because of the major gas leak at the SGN gas works site in Penge on 2 January 2016.

We thank the London Fire Brigade team, our local police team, in particular, Sgt Rob Goodwin, PCSO Julie Pope and PCSO Garrick Stiles, for so quickly setting up temporary accommodation.  To Holy Trinity church and St Hughes Community Centre who gave shelter to our residents and our also to our local McDonalds who kindly provided free hot drinks to residents.

LBB have been criticized for not acting quickly enough but LBB officers helped to facilitate SGN in accommodating the most affected residents into local hotels.  We understand that the communication on the night was not good and this is being followed up by the London Borough of Bromley as part of a de-brief –  We will share this information once available.

We are working with the LBB to ensure the safe and speedy conclusion to these works which have caused our residents so much distress over the past 6 months.

Our local teams got it right and we sincerely thank them
