Promises made after WARD PANEL on 23 March 2016
- ASB – Motorists
- ASB – Youths (e.g., gangs of youths)
- Faith Engagement
The Transport Team are continuing with ROAD WATCH. One of our ward panel members confirmed that more volunteers have come forward from the community and several operations have already taken place this year with many stops on speeding vehicles. This will continue and quarterly results should be available in the next couple of months from the Transport Team.
There are several areas in Penge at the moment where there are issues with ASB. Over the next 3-4 months, we will be working very closely with Housing Associations and other partners to try and improve these areas. The areas of concern are:
BLEAN GROVE/LAUREL GROVE MCDONALDS HIGH STREET PENGE QUEEN ADELAIDE COURT KENIWORTH COURT BYCROFT STREET
There has been a big improvement to BYCROFT STREET where some of our street drinkers congregate but we will continue to monitor with our patrols. Unfortunately, CCTV is not available for this area. All of the ASB areas will be monitored; however particular attention will be paid over the next 3 months to BLEAN GROVE/LAUREL GROVE. Meetings have been set up with partners to help resolve the issues.
Some of the ASB that has taken place in BLEAN GROVE/LAUREL GROVE has involved a group of Somali youths. Our team is working closely with the Somali community leaders, meeting regularly with the elders of the community to continue to build and create a good working relationship together.
