Thursday 21 July 2016 commencing at 00.01am concluding at 24.00pm on Saturday 23rd July 2016

All Library Services Unite members to take part in discontinuous strike action (3 day stoppage).

Background to the strike  The Council was told last year on Tuesday 31 March 2015 that members of Unite voted in favour of strike action in relation to a trade dispute over outsourcing of services, changes to pay, terms and conditions and withdrawal of facility time, including all matters arising out of and in consequence of the dispute with Bromley Council.  Members of Unite have voted in favour of discontinuous strike action, and Unite have advised us that there will be further strike action as outlined above.  Based on the information we have available from the payroll check off arrangements and the information provided to the Council by Unite, approximately 230 Unite members will be called to strike action on 20th July.  On the days of strike action affecting library services there are approximately 41 Unite members working in libraries being called to take strike action.
