Penge’s Food Hygiene Rating Scores

Since January 2016 Penge has 15 business premises, some new food outlets, with a Food Hygiene Rating Score of just 1.

A Food Hygiene Rating Score of 3 is ‘Broadly Compliant’ and there are 19 premises with a score of less than 3 in Penge and Cator. This represents 11.9% of the food businesses within the ward.

Nine of these have been inspected or revisited since January 2016. Three have applied for a reassessment of their 1 FHRS score.  Two are overdue their inspection.

You can view the Food Hygiene Rating Scores for food premises using the attached link to the Food Hygiene Rating website.

Businesses visited in June and July 16 should be re-visited to check there are improvements before their next due inspection but we are told it’s a bit soon for these to have happened just now. We believe the premises owners should be pushing for this.

In summary Penge and Cator ward does have the highest number of premises scoring 1 but two of these have had recent interventions. There are no premises with a zero score.

Penge and Cator ward has 88% of its food businesses with a FHRS score of a 3 / 4 or 5.
