Gas Escape High Street Penge

Message from Ben Howard:

Southern Gas Networks (SGN) are currently working on the High Street outside Penge Congregational Church (close to the junction with Kenilworth Road and Sainsburys). To avoid putting up temporary lights, SGN have created a working island in the centre of the carriageway so that traffic can still flow as usual either side of their works. There may be times whilst SGN are completing their works that traffic may need to use the bus lane. I’ve spoken with our enforcement department to make them aware of this issue and if any motorists use the bus lane as a result of needing to due to SGN’s works, then they will not be issued a fine. Works are expected to be in place until early next week. These works are not expected to cause any major traffic disruption, however I wanted to make you aware of these works as locals may question if they are allowed to use the bus lane. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards Ben Howard, Traffic Officer Transport & Highways | Environmental & Community Services London Borough of Bromley Tel: 020 8461 7507.
