Food Hygiene Ratings Penge

We reported recently that in January 2016 Penge had 15 business premises, some new food outlets, with a Food Hygiene Rating Score of just 1.

We were advised that a Food Hygiene Rating Score of 3 is ‘Broadly Compliant’ and therefore we have now written to each of the food establishments in Penge with a Food Hygiene Rating of below 4 to encourage them to make good the shortfalls identified in their inspections and send in the re-assessment forms to London Borough of Bromley. We will then try to get the premises inspected again and hopefully drive up the Food Hygiene Ratings for all our Penge establishments.

As part of the Penge BID project food establishments are being offered training in Food Safety and Hygiene along with a small incentive to get involved.

We will not increase footfall in our town if we do not improve the results so let’s hope 2017 will see a marked improvement on the Food Hygiene Ratings in Penge.
