Update on Gas Escapes Penge

Message from Ben Howard, Traffic Officer:

Southern Gas Networks (SGN) have informed me that they have another gas escape on the opposite side of the road – Green Lane / Croydon Road Junction.

Once they have completed the repair on the current gas escape and have completed their reinstatement, they will then move to the other side of the road and will continue to work under temporary four way lights. They are unable to start this repair until the current works have been completed as there would be no room for traffic flow.

SGN have advised that the temporary lights are likely to be up until the end of the week whilst all repairs are made.

Ben Howard, Traffic Officer

We will provide an additional update later this week once Ben has had a better idea on the expected end date/time and if SGN come across any further problems.
