Bromley To Award Library Contract

Bromley Tories are set to award the management of the borough libraries to Greenwich Leisure Limited with effect from 1st November. A report which has only just been made public is due to go to a meeting of the Recreation and Renewal Scrutiny Committee tonight and a final decision will be made at the Executive meeting on Wednesday 19th July at 7-00pm at Bromley Civic Centre. The ten year contract is seeking to save virtually £4 Million. We do not support this course of action but Bromley Tories have 51 out of 60 councillors in Bromley so tend to get their own way. Penge Library (pictured below) has been a great success but Bromley Tories did not need to close Anerley Library.
