This sounds ridiculous to me – there’s the Goldsmith’s Arms next door, the Pawleyne Arms over the road, the Moon and Stars round the corner. And do we really need more drink being sold from 9 am in the morning?
.Let’s foster the amenities we have, and hopefully attract new and different enterprises, not just dilute and downgrade the area.

    • Dear Hazel,

I don’t know whether they are looking to provide breakfasts as well. Paul Mawdesley from Penge Tourist Board knows the applicant. I think it is small scale and when I took the photo yesterday, there was a Tory General Election leaflet amongst the discarded mail so it has been empty for a little while. Trust John is okay. Regards, Peter
